Me? I'm mostly in the "just cook to survive" category. But if I have people over or am cooking for my bf, I want to do something tasty and nutritious.

I know basic cooking skills but I'm pyrophobic and have a gas stove, so that's one method of cooking out the window for me. That said, I do hope to get over my fear eventually (preferably, I'd just like to have an electric stove) and learn some recipes from my boyfriend's mom. His mom's a pro cake decorator, so I'd also just like to learn about that...

I think it's very rewarding. I mean, the feeling of accomplishment. And knowing exactly what went into your meal so you know you're doing something healthy.

I just have an annoyingly small apartment right now. So baking and having people over is a huge inconvenience.

We don't usually have people over ourselves. My mom usually cooks really nice meals though.

That's good! What's your reason for trying new recipes?

I've always been capable of it, but never really took interest. It was more of a chore that was just necessary. I've lately started trying to cook more and found I'm actually pretty decent, It's been fun learning new recipes. It's much more fun to do it for someone else though, really awesome when someone else enjoys something you made.
