Re: Ask DaNerdiest1
It all began with the August 1-7, 1987 issue of TV Guide with Eileen Davidson, Eric Braeden and Melody Thomas Scott of the hit daytime drama The Young and the Restless on the front cover. Fast forward 18 years, thanks to the magic of the internet, I began buying them at a TV guide nostalgia site where I first bought a defunct Chicago Daily News TV guide from the week of September 22-29, 1973 with Rock Hudson on the cover. I also bought a July 22-29, 1972 issue some years later.
My collection contains debuts, finales, Chicago movie umbrellas like the 3:30/3 O'Clock Movie, Monstrous Movie, WGN Presents and Movie 5, elections and more. Since running my own forum for the past 4 years, I post Chicago TV schedules from 1972 to 1992 to show everyone how great television was from way back when because all Chicago lineups are different from other TV lineups depending on where they live. For example, here's a sched from December 21-22, 1974
WMAQ channel 5 TV schedule for Saturday, December 21, 1974

UCLA Bruins def. Notre Dame with the final score of 85-72 in the 14th Notre Dame-UCLA rivalry game.
This sched comes from the Chicago Sun-Times TV Prevue TV guide where Saturday morning programming were a huge staple back in the day. But sadly as of this writing, the Saturday morning genre being replaced by weekend newscasts and E/I programming.
