"I mean, there's less water sources in a desert. It's all sand. We did live near an oasis, which as water, but... If there's a lot of people, the water has to be managed carefully unless we get lucky with rain."

"Doesn't seem like they're good at that part. I mean, I met you in the woods pretty far from home." She laughed a bit, moving towards the kitchen. "Hungry or thirsty? It's amazing how easy it is to get water in this country!"

"Do you live with lots of people, Kyle?" She smiled to him curiously.

"I told you before, I never really had human friends anyway. So it's not much different, I think." She shrugged, unbothered by the concept. She opened the front door and offered him to join her inside.

"Yep. I got help moving here, but I'll be living alone. It's easier that way, it felt like."

"I can imagine. The dragons would get mad when I called them gods, too." She laughed a bit, seeming more at ease with him than she usually was with people now. As she saw him stop to point at a house, she stared at it and nodded. "Yep. Did you want to come in?"

"I think things like that are culturally decided anyway. Besides, calling a friend that would be weird."

"I mean, it makes enough sense. Living in a castle, having the guards looking for you... Kinda points to that." She chuckled a bit, smiling. "But does it really matter? Before that, you're my friend."

"I mean, you've mentioned the castle unintentionally a few times now, and I wasn't sure why... But now it just feels like, 'oh, now it makes sense' so I decided not to think about it much. Besides, I'm friends with the 'gods' of my land. I don't see it as such a big deal if you live in a castle...

"I still can't tell how far away it is from here, though." She didn't seem to mind that he was from the castle- it was as if it didn't mean a thing. To her, the distance was literally all that mattered right now. That, and her desire to understand more about this country, and her new friend.
